Background

 

Action Housing and Support Ltd is a social housing enterprise that operates with a mission for people and communities to be at the heart of its business. They work alongside local authority partners to provide high quality general needs accommodation for local people. They also have a number of established support services, enabling vulnerable individuals to establish and maintain a home independently. Action Housing also bring empty properties back into use, providing affordable housing to communities wide ranging across the UK.

 

Challenge

 

Action Housing had an ageing hosted Citrix platform that was outdated and becoming expensive to maintain. The legacy environment was no longer fit for purpose and was therefore restricting the business, its scalability and agility. Action Hosing had outgrown the platform and required a new solution which would be reliable, responsive and would provide an infrastructure for the organisation to continue to grow. Action Housing were keen to make their IT investments go far, with a desire to futureproof their IT infrastructure in the next refresh.

 

Action Housing were dissatisfied with the level of support and responsiveness with their previous IT partner. They wanted to improve their IT support relationship and find a partner that would offer peace of mind with a more reliable and proactive managed support service.

 

Solution

 

Our team were approached to suggest improvements to Actions Housing’s IT infrastructure. In addition to the infrastructure design, the brief included a solution that would offer a more robust end point file sharing and security platform.

 

Our Technical Engineers and Account Managers spent time understanding the immediate and future requirements of Action Housing – and following several consultations with our pre-sale’s teams, a comprehensive and future-proof solution was put forward that ticked all of the boxes for Action Housings IT team and Board of Directors.

 

As part of the proposal our team implemented a device refresh through Microsoft Surface as a service – all fully installed with Barracuda Cloud to Cloud back up for Action Housing’s M365 users as well as Barracuda Advanced email protection. The surface solution also included monitors and docking stations. To accommodate hybrid working – our team also deployed Easy print for hosted and remote printing for each of the 8 office sites.

 

The solution encompassed end user and end point support, ensuring that Action Housing use the appropriate Microsoft 365 licensing with all the appropriate updates, helping to reduce costs and improving software utilisation.

 

In addition to the increased levels of security added with the implementation of M365 and Barracuda subscriptions - Action Housing now operate with enhanced productivity, security, and collaboration. The partnership between both organisations continues to grow with enhanced service levels and several exciting projects in the roadmap.
