The health, safety and wellbeing of people is our priority.
In accordance with UK Government guidance, from March 2020 to current, pure technology group invoked its BC Plan for staff to work remotely, accommodating exemptions for a handful of staff with exceptional reasons. All offices operate within a COVID-Secure process and our services to customers remain unaffected.
Whilst maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, PTG have been working to ensure that a safe return to office working can be facilitated, where appropriate and in line with the UK Government Roadmap.
The group have implemented a ‘hybrid’ approach to working and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. When people are in the office there are a number of additional measures in place to further protect and offer reassurance and safety, including daily temperature checking, therma-fogging and enhanced cleaning regimes.
An increasing number of our team have now received vaccinations and it is very much hoped that the roadmap will continue as identified and that all restrictions will be lifted in the very near future. However arrangements currently in place will continue until further notice and PTG will continue with their commitment to follow all guidelines and legislation accordingly.
Following the latest announcement by Prime Minister Johnson imposing a third national lockdown, PTG will return to remote working as instructed. We will maintain a skeleton staff based in each office for the receipt of essential mail and other deliveries only, and will continue to ensure COVID-Secure guidelines are followed by this very small number of people. As we have demonstrated continually throughout this pandemic, our service delivery and provision will continue and our teams are all responding as normal to customer issues, requests and communications.
Whilst the PM has identified that this lockdown will remain in place until the middle of February, there is also hope that by following the vaccination plan as identified, the government will be able to lift many of the restrictions imposed upon us all and PTG are committed to following all guidelines and legislation accordingly, whilst at the same time protecting our people, our customers, our partners, our suppliers and our business.
Following the news of the second national lockdown being imposed as of 05th November, PTG have taken the decision to return to remote working with only a skeleton staff based in each office for the receipt of essential mail and other deliveries only. As we have demonstrated throughout this pandemic, our service delivery and provision will not be impacted by this decision and our teams are all responding as normal to customer issues, requests and communications.
Whilst we hope that the lockdown will not be further extended beyond the December review, we will continue to monitor the situation very closely and make any amendments to our plan as appropriate, observing all guidelines and restrictions in place.
As always our prime concern at this time is the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and every effort has been made and continues to be made to ensure that we meet all expectations with ensuring that our offices remain Covid-Secure. A great deal of hard work has been undertaken to ensure our continued success and at this time, in light of recent announcements, we, as a business have taken the decision to continue with our current arrangements in place, including daily temperature tests, social distancing, increased hygiene routines, both personally and within the office and one way walking systems.
Whilst we are obviously prioritising our people’s safety, first and foremost, we are also aware of our obligation to our people’s mental wellbeing and listening to their views, whilst still maintaining our obligation to the business.
We will continue to review and monitor the situation and act in accordance with all current and future guidelines as required.
We will continue to react to any further guidance identified and take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of our people.
We have now implemented a number of measures, following completion of relevant risk assessments, to ensure that we meet the requirements of COVID-SECURE as identified by the Government including:
- increased cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures;
- taking all reasonable steps to help people work from home;
- taking all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the workplace;
- where people can’t keep 2m apart we have ensured at least a 1m distance and taken all the mitigating actions possible to manage transmission risk;
- implementing one-way walkway systems;
- designated workstations;
- provision of specific information, instruction and guidance to support all our people to keep safe in our offices.
Whilst during this time our primary concern remains the wellbeing of our team members and duty of care to our customers PTG are now making plans to move forward following lock-down, preparing for a return to the office, ensuring we provide a safe and healthy environment, whilst still following all Government guidelines provided.
Thank you to our customers, partners, suppliers and, most of all our people, who have embraced a completely new way of working in a very short space of time.
Our offices will remain open for the receipt of essential mail only, serviced by a maximum of two personnel per site, working on separate floors of each building. We will continue to impose a ‘no visitors’ restriction and our people will work from home using the technology tried and tested through our Business Continuity Plan. This allows us to provide ‘service as usual’ to our customers, partners and the wider community.
Our Service Desk is fully operational and actively supporting customers. Our teams are responding as normal to customer issues and working open incidents through to resolution. Although service volume is higher than usual, due to many organisations requiring assistance with increased remote working, we are coping well with the additional workload. Our professional services team is working with customers to ensure projects continue, whilst observing customer restrictions and plans.
In terms of the supply chain we are actively engaged with our global partners to minimise any disruption in supply as a result of COVID-19 and will continue to monitor the situation closely, providing current lead time and product availability at the time of order.
We have postponed all scheduled internal and external events and, in some cases, will make some activities virtual. If you’ve registered for an event, we will keep you posted.
